Without doubt, it is the unique Slovenian icon, the double hayrack, that is best known in Studor. Standing guard to the entrance of the village they are said to represent the layout of the original old village.

Whether or not this is true is open to debate but what is indisputable is their sheer beauty and charm. Still in use today to dry hay and other produce from the land they stand as a continual reminder of Slovenia’s rich farming history and traditions.

The village takes the name of the mountain that stands powerfully above, and the two make for wonderful photos year round.

Generally considered as one of the oldest villages in Slovenia, Studor is protected under the Cultural Heritage Act.
